Its a rum to drink with coke not for sipping or on the rocks

It's basically what Captain Morgan should be, and for the price it should be.

smooth with very spicy aftertaste.

I am not very much into flavored spicy rums but I won't turn down a glass if offered.

Harsh alcohol burn with some vanilla flavor. Ok mixed with cola but I wouldn't have it straight.

Hard to go past Sailor jerry as the O.G of spiced rums for me. Very sweet and nice and cheap make for a good mixer to any night out. There are better quality spiced rums but you have to dip further into your pocket- so this gets a good overall rating of 5/10.

Taste was just ok but had an artificial/chemically flavor on the back end

Just edited my review and put this down a notch. Still better than Captain Morgan. This is tough to drink unchilled in a shot glass. But over ice things do change. It's sort of tasty...ok, No complexity. Normally I consider a little smoke flavor at the finish very favorable. But after a few more drinks the smokiness is starting to reveal itself for what it is. Unfinished mass produced immaturity. An incomplete process designed to get bottles on shelves.

OK, it's nothing special but it's not terrible. Decent and a step up from the likes of Kraken and Morgans, still not something I would order but it is the best of the cheap spiced rums.

This is a rum I keep in the house for when people ask for it. It’s not a go-to, even in a rum and coke but sometimes it is nice to mix it up a bit. It’s more mellow than some spiced rums but still has tons of vanilla and heavy toffee. It’s definitely not a sipping rum as it is quite harsh. To be honest I’m a sucker for the now-passé iconography and the nicely shaped bottle so don’t mind keeping it in stock. It’s not particularly exciting to drink though.

Ok for the price whem using for mixed drinks, cooking/baking... Cheap, but it works. If you have the resources, look flsewhere.
