This is the original gold rum aged 3 to 5 years then put into Madeira barrels for a further 6 months. 41.7%. Slightly darker pour than the bourbon original but the Madeira influence certainly improves the overall experience which is pleasing to me. Banana and Vanilla on the nose , on sipping I get oranges , burnt sugar and a bit of spice. Longer finish than the original. Rather pleasant.

There’s very little information about this rum.
On their website you can read that the distillery is situated near St Georges and started up 1937. That means that it’s distilled at Grenada Distilleries Ltd (Clarke’s Court).
The brand is owned by Crucial Drinks based in Scotland. Have also read that it’s bottled in Scotland (unconfirmed) another possibility is of course that it’s bottled by GDL.————————————————————————
Nice nose. In mouth the taste comes rather late but then it’s strong just as the long afterburn. It’s very fruity with a clear taste of citrus and banana. There’s also hints of spices which feels good for a rum from the island of spices. Besides this, which is quite much alike the Six Saints Gold, the ageing in Madeira barrels makes a clear footprint.

This version is slightly better than the bourbon barrel aged version of it.
