This is an exceptional Rhum from Saint James. It’s a blend of the vintages of 1998, 2000 and 2003 all of them aged for over 12 years in small Bourbon casks.
In your glass you get a mahogany colored Rhum. The aroma is very pleasant and I think I can find mocha there among other notes. On the palate it’s very complex with lots of fruity flavors prunes, cherries, etc.
In the end wood and spices dominates and I think I can recognize nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper.
As a conclusion it’s a fantastic Rhum but the average price is little too high at 180€, but I have bought my bottles at Catawiki for around 125€/bottle.
