Goldenes Strohgelb im Glas.
In der Nase frisch und fruchtig. Frisch gepflückte und aufgeschnittene Früchte, Birnen, weisse Trauben, Ananas, Litschi, in Weisswein Schorle eingelegte Pfirsiche um nur einige zu nennen. Nach etwa einer halben Stunde im Glas öffnen sich weitere Welten. Du stehst inmitten eines Waldes und erlebst die Düfte von Holz, Harz, Moos und Kakao so intensiv wie die der Früchte.
Am Gaumen sehr kräftig und ehrlich und mit 58% Vol. nicht unbedingt für Jedermann erträglich, öffnet sich aber schön mit ein paar Tröpfchen Wasser. Holz, Harz, Whisky, Schokolade, Nüsse, Karamell sind zu entdecken wie auch Medizinkräuter mit einer Prise Fleur de Sel. Die Früchte begleiten das ganze Setting und bieten der Zunge ein interessantes Abenteuer.
Im Abgang ziehen die Aromen langsam von Dannen. Die Pfirsiche und das Karamell exponieren sich am längsten, das Salz bleibt ewig.
Ein toller Rum der fordert, der Zeit braucht, der Verständnis braucht, der Gefühl braucht. Für Suchende, Bestien Zähmer und Geniesser.

Fresh and fruity on the nose. Freshly picked and sliced fruit, pears, white grapes, pineapple, lychee, peaches preserved in white wine spritzer to name a few. After about half an hour in the glass, more worlds open up. You stand in the middle of a forest and experience the scents of wood, resin, moss and cocoa as intense as those of fruit.
Very powerful and honest on the palate and at 58% vol. not necessarily tolerable for everyone, but opens up nicely with a few drops of water. Wood, resin, whiskey, chocolate, nuts, caramel can be detected as well as medicinal herbs with a pinch of fleur de sel. Fruits accompany the whole setting and offer the tongue an interesting adventure.
On the finish, the flavors slowly depart. The peaches and caramel expose themselves the longest, the salt lingers forever.
A great rum that demands, that needs time, that needs understanding, that needs feeling. For seekers, beasts tamers and connoisseurs.

Rum tasting in Tirana Albania continued with Rum Nation Guyana 2003 Diamond 15y. Decent bottle and label design. Light golden color. Strong alcohol mixed with plenty of rubber and glue to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Strong and nasty burn at the end.
