Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled from fresh cane juice before aging at 7544 feet at 62 °F (17 °C).
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.
Lovely rum with a hint of honey and liquorice.
Certainly a favourite but tends to be more expensive than others.
There are equal, and better rums at better value such as Diplomatica
This is my favourite sipping rum; one of the smoothest sipping rums ever, but a bit sweet. The sweetness and meld of flavours seems a bit artificial, likely from the qualities of the mixing of old/new. The XO is a bit drier, more alcoholic, yet somehow, more authentic to a truly aged one barrel rum. Both are stunning.
Como de muchos, el primer Ron premium que uno degusta es el ron Zacapa, sin duda alguna es un ron de calidad con un rango dulce y buen cuerpo.
Excelente Ron para comenzar en la prueba de Ron de calidad.
Doesn't really deserve some of the hate. It is kind of sweet but perfectly balanced in my opinion. A real treat to drink on a hot day or to warm you up during a cold winter night. It's not a XO but it doesn't pretend to be.
