Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

There is a very slight chemical taste with this rum, and it is not as smooth as Santa Theresa or Plantation Xo, but it is a sipping rum you could enjoy all night long!
Moderate price and enough to bring out the taste of aged rum, suitable for everyone to buy

I personally never understand why this rum should be better than e.g. Diplomatico 12. Diplo has better price and is not much different from this. Sorry.

Apéritif, boisé & doux et tout en longueur. Très sucré !
I like the Central American rums. Bought one of this when I was in Costa Rica and did not regret it.

Dlouho jsem přemýšlel jestli investuju. Určitě toho nelituju, tato zacapa je taková svá. Nicméně lahev jsme dopijeli namixovanou s kolou. Na me trochu ostřejší, palciva. Mam rad jemné rumy sladší. Urcite si ji dam ale někdy znovu.

Obviously not a true 23, but still very nice. Smells of oak, molasses, caramel. Tastes similar.
