Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

One of the best rums I ever tasted, especially with that price. Its a good buy.
first choice in pub after a few beers:) nothing special in this moment but high standard for all rums and you can find it everywhere for good price mostly.
Some sweetness, and quite easy. A complex taste with some smoke, nuts, dried fruit and a liquorice finish.
It's right in the top tier. An excellent sipper that is only exceeded by the special editions.
This is one of my favorite rums in this price range($45 locally here). Smooth but not overly sweet, a little heat but not overbearing.
Zacapa is "just" Zacapa. It is a very specific rum which you would recognize if I would wake you up in the middle of níght. For me in this case, word specific doesn't also mean splendid.
After drinking a glass of rum in a high class club for 25€!!!!! ,I decided to buy a bottle of zacapa23. Now I could enjoy a very nice rum for a normal price. This is my first rum but certainly not the last! Meanwhile i've got five other rums in my cabinet, (matusalem xo,diplomatico reserva exclusiva ,havanna seleccion de maestros, plantation xo,and coruba 12 years cigar ) which ik will rate later!
Le zacapa 23 n'est pas un rhum de 23 ans mais un solera dont la petite partie la plus âgée est de 23 ans. Mais on peut dire que le rhum a une moyenne de 10 ans max. Ce rhum est doux avec des notes de corn whisky et de caramel. Bien équilibré mais un peu trop sucré, ce rhum ravira l' amateur de solera dont il est un digne représentant.
Udmærket rom. God fylde og eftersmag. Der findes mange der er bedre end den her. Den er vist lidt for hypet
Actually quite dry and oaky.

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

I consider Zacapa 23 to be the best way to get outsiders into enjoying what aged rum can offer. It's approachable, affordable, and has many other appealing qualities.
