Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

It's strong but mild in the same moment. I know it's a commercial product but comparison of price and taste gives me 8 - maybe even more

I have a sweet tooth so this rates favourably with me

I am pretty new to the rum rating and have tried about 12 different, this rum is not the best I have had. It is a nice sipper but pricey for what it is.

Her er en Rom der har masser af smag og behageligt duft, super god Rom til prisen, lækkert

This is a very good agricole rum, but its still a sweetened rum so I can't give it a 10. It's a bit over priced. But its still worth trying as a sipper. It a unique rum with unique spice notes. I found the absence of the rum burn on the finish very interesting and different. The nose reminded me very much of an aged Jamaican rum such as Appleton 21.

K&S 23 and 18 are still King of the Agricoles...

This was my first experience a few years ago with good rums
Lot of tastes and sweet, will be perfect for beginners

everybody knows the name Zacapa, even my mother and she don't like rum.... for my personal view they take care more about the branding and marketing than the product it self...

Based on the numbers of positive reviews and of this rum I was exited to finally try it. I think I understand where some of the backlash is coming from. IMHO, too sweet and boring for the price. Do yourself a favor and go with a bottle of El Dorado 15 instead if you're torn or save half the money and go with a bottle of Zaya.

Good Rum, very smooth and easy to drink straight or on the rocks. Good as a present as it hits most people tastes and nice introduction into the rum world

Full of flavor and smooth creamy texture. Great sipping rum!

I did not know this rum had added sweetness but nonetheless, it is a decent sipping rum. I really had no complaints about this, but it's definitely not one I go straight for when I'm in the mood to sip on rum. Decent rum, but forgettable.
