Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

TL/DR - fine for the price, let it breathe for a while before drinking.

Nice notes of mahogany, tobacco, brown sugar and vanilla. I had this neat and also smoked with applewood. Both were great.

But for the price, I'd go with the much smoother Plantation XO. Z 23 is a nice alternative though.

Did not like it straight up. Lot of burn and taste was unexciting. Mixed it and it's somewhat better. However for its reputation I was left disappointed

One of the best sipping rum for both experienced and novice slippers.

Its sweet but the sweetness isn't over the top. Good combination of brown suger, vanilla, caramel, and oak. One of the most balance rums I have found. My only criticism is I consider the use of the new charred oak in the aging process a negative. You can taste the char on the finish.

A fine rum, but in my opinon perhaps slightly over-rated

Imi place foarte mult dupa ce se linisteste, emana niste arome incredibile. Are un aftertaste frumos si fin. Este smooth si elegant.

This is the first rum over the 20 dollar range I have tried, so its hard to give a valid opinion. I like it, but it was a little on the sweet side for me even though it was by far a better rum then I'm used to drinking. I'm looking forward to trying some other higher rated and higher quality rums in the future.

It is easy to drink, understand, and love. It is medium sweet and the flavor it's plenty. It has the usual caramel and vanilla notes, but also resonates with notes of dry fruit. It goes well with tobacco .

Lorsque je vais au Mexique, c'est mon incontournable dans les Duty Free. Ça et le Tequilla Herradura Añejo. À 50USD, c'est un excellent achat.

Ses notes de vanille et de caramel sont délectables.
