Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Not bad rum, with all the ratings of popularity, I was expecting more.
Still a good rum to have in the cabinet.

I tak mi ale zลฏstal v hlavฤ (i po tฤch pivech jsem poznal, ลพe prostฤ chutnรก jinak neลพ vลกechno, co jsem do tรฉ doby pil) a byl jsem rozhodnut si jednou koupit celou lรกhev. Kdyลพ pak nastal ten den a jรก v klidu ochutnal ฤerstvฤ otevลenou lรกhev, tak jsem byl zklรกmรกn. ลฝรกdnรก vรฝraznรก chuลฅ, nuda, proฤ to stojรญ tolik... V tรฉ dobฤ jsem nebyl schopen to docenit.

Dnes si tento rum nemohu vynachvรกlit. Pลijde mi, ลพe v sobฤ spojuje hodnฤ dobrรฝch vlastnostรญ ostatnรญch rumลฏ. Mรญsรญ v sobฤ spoustu chutรญ (vanilka, kรกva, kakao ...), z nichลพ ลพรกdnรก vyloลพenฤ nevyฤnรญvรก. Stejnฤ tak se nachรกzรญ pลesnฤ na pomezรญ mezi hoลkostรญ a sladkostรญ. Mรก vรฝraznรฝ dozvuk a pลitom si zachovรกvรก naprostou jemnost (toto slovo Zacapu charakterizuje asi nejlรฉpe).
Aลพ postupem ฤasu (a pitรญm ostatnรญch rumลฏ) jsem pลiลกel na to, proฤ je zrovna tento tak vychvalovรกn. To, jak v sobฤ dokรกzal skloubit spoustu vlastnostรญ (nฤkterรฉ z nich protikladnรฉ), je obdivuhodnรฉ.

It's not a bad rum. Has some nice flavours and aroma for a 23 Solera style (probably nearer 6-8 years old and perhaps depending on the blend maybe pushing to 12) but please stop the marketing crap. Although if you want to laugh out loud you might as well read it all :)
I like this one - mostly because this was the first 'real' rum i tasted.
It has a special place in my heart.
Its not that expensive and can be served, without a reason :)

I have tasted this rum couple od times before and I Just have to admit to myself that I don't like it even if I try.
I'm a bourbon drinker and this may have won me over. Smooth, gorgeous color and exception sweet flavors

if you like sweet rhum, this is what you need... not too expensive compared to the quality, a very good one simply.
