Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled

Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.

The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.

The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Хороший ром, но ожидания были явно выше. Нет ярких воспоминаний и желания попробовать еще

Don’t get me wrong. It’s still good. But you’re paying a premium for the name. It’s the 1942 tequila of the rum world. At least in the United States.

Darkish. A bit sweet. Strong taste of alcohol. Better than I remembered it.

A good rum to start your rum adventure. Everybody can drink it and thus is good rum to introduce for new rum drinkers who thinks rum is nonsence.

Good sipper. Less overtly sweet than others I've tried. Smooth with a long finish

Not as good as some Zacapa's but a worthy weekly drink, makes a very good Dark & Stormy.

Well what a let down. Months waiting to get a chance to try this much lauded rum only to feel a bit *nah!. First try neat, then with Ice, and finally mixed. All a bit similar to other stuff I've tried before, with little for me to set it apart. I was wary of the sugar content, but didn't find it too sweet for my own taste. I will happily drink more because its a good rum but after reading so much I feel it may be overhyped. or perhaps my taste is unsophisticated? yep that's it!

I tried this one with coke zero and it seemed alright, tried it neet and it had some bite. For less money I could enjoy a nice El Dorado. I will keep sampling!

I like drinking this while smoking a cigar. It is a tad overpriced but it tastes ok with a bit of ice.
