Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4) Distilled
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Rhum correct, sans plus. Dispendieux, beaucoup d'autres rhum meilleurs Γ ce prix.

Ron Zacapa 23 solera is very enjoyable to drink, it's hard to dispute that. However, the sweetness of the rum does tend to mask the more complex spices and flavours that most rum drinkers enjoy. Also given the price range that it falls under, I would personally recommend picking up something with more substance.
Great color and taste. Nice looking bottle. Super smell with caramel hints
Zacapa is one of the most renowned rum brands in the world and that is why this rum was one of my first contacts with the world of rums. Despite produced in Latin America, the taste is more similar to British type rums and brandy. Although I find Zacapa slightly overrated, I would never reject a glass of this rum which is "reccomendable to most". P.S.: Very beautiful bottle. 75%
it's a very good rum. way better than most commercial rums, but for its pricepoint and the hype surrounding it I found it a bit dissapointing. It's a good rum but just a bit overrated.
This was the first rum that got me into sipping. I used to just drink rum and cokes, and never got into sipping rum. This was recommended to me by a friend, and it was great. This is what got me into rum, good price, great smooth taste. Its on the sweeter side, which i prefer something a little bit more rich in flavor.
Although I prefere other rums this one I can taste from time to time.
A few rums are known by all and have been tasted by all. This is one of those rums. Most people have started their journey into rum with this bottle, which is a decent start, but should never be the end of the road.
Nose: Vanilla, cinnamon and honey
Taste: Caramel, honey and a bit of smoke in the aftertaste
Overall: This is the bottle that is the gateway to the world of rum and for that it should be saluted. It is a nice, but sweet start to a journey of endless tastes and experiences
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

I am still new to rum drinking and till trying this one I tried 7 other "top shelf" rums.
The color is nice and dark ("mahogany like").
Smell is sweet and alcoholic but in a pleasant way with some notes of citrus but not overly complex.
Drinking it neat was semi pleasant, it is sweet so it is smooth but the burn is there. After taste is semi complex with notes of honey, vanilla, cinnamon and citrus.
As the maker describes it should be drank with ice, and that is where this one stands out. The sweetness does not intensify as much as does with ice in other rums and I get the feeling the ice just intensifies the aromas you get drinking it neat.
Of course in mix drinks it is great.
Overall, it si good and enjoyable but for the price I would try something else. I bought it because it is very famous rum but it should be half the price.
