Tasted it together with my last glass from a 2004 and I think itโ€™s slightly better than that one cause itโ€™s not as sweet as the 2004 but on the other hand itโ€™s also feels thinner.
The fragrance is quite complex with clear barrel character, hints of muscovado sugar, raisins, arrack, marzipan, dark chocolate, orange and vanilla.
In mouth and palate itโ€™s also complex with some sweetness and clear barrel character, hints of raisins, muscovado sugar, orange, chocolate, arrack, nuts, cinnamon, Sherry and vanilla fudge.
The finish is medium long and tastes more or less the same.

For the price, this is the far superior buy over the Ambassador Selection in my opinion. Best Rum I had so far from Diplomatico.

I thought this rum was slightly different than my first bottle of SVTG, I didnโ€™t realize until today this was a different vintage 2005 not 2004. Still an exquisite rum with similar characteristics. I hope to sample some of the previous vintages someday.

Smooth as silk. Surprisingly, not very flavoured, it is just it's needed. Not very sweet. Dark chocolate is predominant taste. Smells quite herbal, in my opinion. Aftertaste is long and a little bit spicy.
An excellent drink to sip!

Good but it a tiny bit off from a dos maderas luxus which I rate a 10. Has the sherry raisin tasting notes just a little too thick in consistency for me and a little too sweet

Sweet, spicy, smooth. A bit oaky. Deep flavors. Lovely.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 12/12/21. Pours a reddish dark brown color. Aroma of raisins, wine, tobacco, chocolate, and molasses. Rich thick mouthfeel. Not as sweet as the 2002 single vintage, but much richer. Big chocolate flavor. A few drops of water opens up even more cocoa. Absolutely fantastic.

This rum is lush.

Nice deep flavours, minimal burn, lingering smooth after-taste and for what you get, a good price point versus other premium sippers that are in the same ball park but up to twice the price.

Strong caramel and vanilla flavours, a touch oaky with nice cinnamon flavour all the
Way through. Maybe even marzipan?

In any case, drink it. Its actually amongst the good stuff out there. 8.5 is a fair rating.

Very smooth and sweet, a little expensive. Does not match the quality of the 2000 vintage but still a fine offering.
