I'm still fairly new to rum, but have discovered that there is MUCH better rum than Bacardi. My favorite budget rum to mix is Cruzan. I was out of mixer rum, but the local liquor store didn't have any Cruzan in stock. This was a new rum they carried, and it was about the same price as Cruzan, so I gave it a shot. I guess having nothing but 1.75 liter bottles may have been a give away, but hindsight is 20-20.
Very little to the aroma. There's a hint of the underlying molasses, but nothing that really stands out. The alcohol is very mild in the aroma, so I guess that's good.
On the tongue, there's some orange and maybe a bit of coffee. Then there's something that hangs on in the end that I can't quite put my finger on. The alcohol is not over powering, and maybe that's a touch of black pepper in there?
Over all, it's not too bad for mixing. I'm not going to pass up my Cruzan for it, but it will do in a pinch. It's probably worth the money for a mixer, but I'm certainly not going to be sipping this rum.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nose like a spiced rum taste is watered down almost identical to the white black cat with some burn, no body, not much flavor
