The Danish company 1423 Spirits have done quite a lot of Single Barrel Selections over the years. Personally, I find them to be hit and miss. Sadly, this one (from Worthy Park, Jamaica) is more miss, than hit...
Nose: Marzipan, smoked wood, apples and syrup
Taste: Marzipan, almonds, hazelnuts and a slight hint of smoke
Overall: This is very different from what you would expect from a Jamaican rum. This is not bad, per se, but it is not a rum that is worth its price tag, especially not if you are a fan of the Jamaican style. It is simply "too weak".
Rum tasting with my buddy in Tampere continued with 1423 SBS Jamaica 2005 Worthy Park. Very nice bottle and label design. Golden color. Strong funk mixed with plenty of glue to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Strong and dry burn at the end.
