Colour: Honey gold
Nose: Smokey, but not a warm peaty aroma, more like your clothes the morning after a camp fire. Some gasoline notes and a touch of over ripe fruit.
Mouth: Sugar and smoke. The cold smoke character is full-on, but tastes artificial, not like it was imparted by sherry or charred oak casks. A cloying sweetness catches up with it. Not much else.
Sweetness: 4/5, lots of added sugar
Throat: short burn, lingering sweetness.

Ide o novinku s pár dostupnými recenziami, fľašu som dostal ako darček k väčšej objednávke. Cena nad 30€ už dáva predpoklad, že by mohlo ísť o kvalitku! Ploská fľaša s masívnym korkom je priemerne atraktívna, vôňa je hutná, cítiť silný dym a ťažké ovocné tóny, v noše zaštípe vyššie percento alkoholu (45%). Chuť je veľmi intenzívna, prekvapilo ma veľké množstvo pridaného cukru. V pozadí cítiť dub, nešpecifikované prezreté ovocie, med, no predovšetkým DYM. Už označenie Black Smoke naznačilo, o čo pôjde, avšak tak dominantný dym som v rume ešte nezaregistroval. Na môj vkus ho tam je až moc, rovnako ako cukru, v kombinácii s vyšším obsahom alkoholu mi pripomína niektorý z domácich Tatranských čajov, tie sú však chutnejšie a vyváženejšie. Toto mi vôbec nesadlo, mám rád jemnejšie a suchšie druhy. Nikde na etikete som sa nedočítal, koľko rokov tento barbadoský nápoj zrel, každopádne cenovka mi príde úplne uletená, nemám dôvod sa k nemu vracať. Úprimne - mal som problém vôbec dopiť fľašu, aj to len formou mixu.

Rum aus Trinidad, Barbados und Panama zwischen sechs und acht Jahre alt und geräuchert.
Goldenes Bernstein im Glas.
Im der Nase recht düster, schwer und süss. Angekohltes Holz mit heissem, stark gebranntem Karamell übergossen, bilden die Basis gefolgt von welken Blumen und frisch ausgegrabenen Wurzeln.
Im Gaumen sehr süss, ist ja auch ein Rum Likör und soll so sein. Karamell und kandierte tropische Früchte werden durch die Süsse sehr dominant präsentiert. Holznuancen und verbrannte Sägespäne runden das Ganze ab.
Im Abgang sehr interessant, die Arome passieren Revue und zurück bleibt so etwas wie Rauchsalz auf den Lippen.
Ein sicher spezieller Rum für Liebhaber von süssen, gewürzten Rum. Interessanterweise ist auf dem europäischen Etikett der Vermerk "rum based spirit" angebracht anstatt "authentic spirit", da kann Jeder seine Gedanken machen.

In the nose quite dark, heavy and sweet. Charred wood poured over with hot, strongly burnt caramel, forming the base followed by withered flowers and freshly digged roots.
In the palate very sweet, is also a rum liqueur and should be so. Caramel and candied tropical fruits are presented very dominant by the sweetness. Wood nuances and burnt sawdust round off the whole.
The finish is very interesting, the aromas pass revue and something like smoked salt remains on the lips.
A certainly special rum for lovers of sweet, spiced rum. Interestingly, on the European label the note "rum based spirit" is appropriate instead of "authentic spirit", there everyone can make his thoughts.

The aroma is hiding the flavour hit! aroma is reasonably mild with caramel, citrus and oak. Then you taste and the immediate flavour is citrus closely followed by caramel before.... WHAM! the smokey oak hits you heavily. The smoke would be too much but the sweet honey follows and mellows the smoke hit. I don’t do 10/10 otherwise this would have it!!
