I'm a bit biased, because this is the first brand of rum I drank with any regularity. It's decent as a mid-tier English-style aged rum: smooth on the palate, flavor's there but doesn't overwhelm, and nicely mellowed out. It's a good workhorse rum, but there's nothing that really makes it stand out on its own. Works wonderfully as a mixer, but for tiki drinks or sipping, I think I'll reach for something a bit funkier.

Not the best, but solid mixer. Wouldn’t recommend it to sip - go for the Trouvadore for that.

... Tasty bit not quite great. For the price, a nice suprise.

I'm really glad I found this rum on a cruise to Grand Turk a few years ago. My only regret is that I didn't get more and and get some Reserve. This rum puts me in mind of a whisky. It has a bit of a charred oak taste followed by a nice burn and a nice smooth finish. Not a lot of sweetness, just nice and smooth and not harsh. To me, it qualifies as a pleasant sipping rum and also makes a quality mixer. I will definitely pick up some more when I visit Grand Turk again.

A good mixing rum. I'm spoiled with Bambarra Reserve and Trouvadore though.
