Just had some of this at the source in Barbados. Good rum, alcohol forward but does not burn. i would give it a 8.5 in truth but so be it. Anyhow, great rum, smooth and non adulterated.

A tricky review to write, as this might be the weakest of the current Foursquare line-up, BUT, it's still a VERY good rum.
For me though, it's lacking a little something to really make it distinctive.
What it IS, is a beautiful example of a really good, honest rum. No added sugar, properly aged, smooth and a lovely favour.
It's just other Foursquare options are better!
Great vanilla carmel, but really, a special one-and-done sipper. Not that it’s too hot to handle, but too hot for sustained enjoyment. It will have a little bit longer shelf life than the Zinfandel cask, but keep a place its place on the shelf. It would be an awesome floater on that piña colada!

Wow, je ne m'attendais pas à cela, très doux malgré son 59% alcool. Beau rhum de dégustation. Merci Québec rhum!
Not my favorite Foursquare, a bit more alcohol scent first smell. Nice flavor on the tongue and gums. Warms you up and lingers but more of a burn linger than intense spice linger like Empery..Glad to have it in my collection will visit again soon. I like to sip several side by side and compare and contrast.

Was fortunate to find 3 different bottles of Foursquare in FL, expensive, but have always admired the brand. This bottle like the 2005 is high proof & you realize it when it hits the nose. Nice scent of light fruit, honey & caramel. Slight burn across the tongue, but terrific taste. Notes of more caramel & toffee across the palette, finishes strong with honey. My initial thought is that I prefer this bottle vs the 2005.

Dominated by the bourbon barrel which is both advantage and disatvantage of this rum. It needs a lot of time and some of understanding 'the stuff' to appreciate this particular Foursquare. Moreover, it is more dry than you can imagine. Opens very well with an addition of water.
For me, the worst Foursquare I have drank lately, but still worth of trying. Discovering its ups and downs is really good adventure.
Nice notes of woody oak and a touch of ginger.
"Sweet notes of raisin and sultana move in and out of the mix, adding a really nice fruity balance to oaky notes."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Tasted this at a rum tasting. We had 7 different rums without extra added sugars. It had wonderful taste and smell. And a natural sweet taste. Will bus it soon!
