Sweet..with a strange caramel palate. Goes down uneventfully. Not to be sipped, just for mixing purposes. Not sure if it is better than the white one...
Enjoyed a glass of Ron Mulata Añejo Reserva at La Bodequita del Medio in Havana. Excellent label design and mediocre bottle design. Color is light golden indicating very little added sugars. Alcohol and wood are quite strong to the nose and palate. Quite a lot of burn at the end, so mix it up.
Ron Mulata Anejo Reserva - I was expecting more, but nothing special, sweet... I drank it stright, with no ice maybe better for mixed drinks.
Had this one in a bar recently and the only thing I can remember about this rum was a bartender saying something about "girly stuff" ....he was right! Maybe a good one for coctails but that would be it.
Pleasant but not strong. Gets lost when mixed with cola but not strong enough for ginger ale.
I was expecting better things from this aged rum. But unfortunately it was not to my taste.
This rum was very sweet and had an odd after taste behind that I was not keen on.
So I'm 99% sure this is the rum that is now labelled the 7 year which my SO brought back from Cuba.
Very smooth. Nice and sweet but with no follow-through.
