A very tasty and gently Hampden DOK. My bottle has 44% (JHJ20 bottle 249/482).
The DOK mark was not a disapointment, the dilution makes it very drinkable. I just can't stop sniffing and drinking this beauty.
I mean it's almost perfect, but sometimes I wanna enjoy a stronger version.
You know what, there is also a version with 60%.
The taste is very fruity, pineapple has almost the main part in this high ester Hampden rum.
You will still have the pineapple with citrus in your mouth 30min later.

The balance and intensity is very good, even with the dilution as I mentioned it already.
I think you would understand why this mark is used to make other rums fruity
and actually not intended to be drunk pure. But I like exactly this.

I like especially the malt in the finish. Great rum.
Watch out, the evaporation is very fast, I filled my rum into smaller bottles.

Nose: citrus, banana, pineapple, salt, wood, plants, oil
Taste initial: citrus, sour apple, pineapple, salt
Middle: plants, fried pineapple, light bitterness/barrel/earth
Finish: mango, pineapple, sesame, peppermint

Sweetness: 2/5
Fruits: 5/5
Spice: 3.5/5
Mildness: 3/5
Intensity: 4.5/5
Balance: 3.5/5
Value (85€): 4/5
Experience level: professional

Light amber in a glass.
In the nose the typical Jamaica funk with an incredible depth. Ripe red fruits paired with fat caramel, liquorice sticks wrapped in herbs.
On the palate a true explosion of aromas thanks to 55%. Tropical fruits, mainly banana, spices, herbs, some caramel with white pepper and wood nuances.
In the finish wonderfully long and funky, banana, berries, caramel......
A very big high proof Jamaican for lovers of Navy Style Rum.
