I feel lucky to have such a nice rum distilled just less than one hour drive from my place. This is an authentic agricole made in Australia, flavourful and smooth. You can go either drink it neat or on a ti punch (I wouldnโ€™t mix such a nice drink with other stuff that would hide such a rich profile of flavour)

The nose is strong and captivating, as you open the bottle you can smell sugar cane, wet grass and cooked sweet corn. On the palate you get the same thing with a nice sweetness and a long finish. And has no sugar added :D

This will be a serious surprise to Australians who haven't had an agricole before. You can smell the grassy funk as soon as you pop the cork. It's just as funky in the mouth and could add a really interesting element to a lot of cocktails. It sits comfortably among the agricoles of the Caribbean though lacking some of their nuance. It's nice to see someone in Australia trying something different.

We opened this in a room of wine experts. The smell was like fish glue, although there was a hint of banana. Not much fire in the glass but the smell was off putting. We tried mixing it for a cocktail but the smell was too strong. Half a bottle was left at the end of the evening but nobody wanted it.

Great to see some real rum coming out of Australia. Can't be called "rum" on the label due to misinformed aging requirements, but lobbying from the big distillery in Queensland will never allow this to change.

Freshly-pressed cane juice, a little corn oil, and fresh cut grass.

It's good juice. Maybe a little over-distilled.

I love my Agricole rum, and Clairins. So, seeing an Australian company set up shop and make an Agricole on the other side of the world intrigued me. Its grassy alright, you can taste the youth in it, and I love it.

Might be a love hate relationship. I love the fresh sugar cane grassiness but not the harshness that goes with it. Definitely not something I can sip

Husk distillers are a group worth supporting. I like all their products & this one is no exception.

Really excellent stuff.
Clean and clear spirit with a syrupy mouthfeel showing lots of tight, long liquor legs.
Smells like a storm rolling in at the end of a hot day and a bowl of fruit salad that was left out and is just starting to ferment. Very natural and appealing.

The taste is focussed and refined. Sharp edges and a good balance of bitter herbs, raw honey and warming spirit.

Not necessarily for everyone but itโ€™s a first class rhum and definitely one Iโ€™ll buy again.
