I am now continuing on with submitting reviews that I have neglected to submit over the past year. This one is based upon distant memory, so cut me some slack for not providing tasting notes. But for me to rate a spiced rum as high as a 7, that alone says something special about this very unique rum.

An adventurous offering from team Roulaison, at a whopping +40% abv content, is quite pungent on the palate with an herb-heavy bouquet that hits the tongue with an astringent herbal blend reminiscent of amari but far more on the angostura end of bitterness. It’s probably the overall sweetness that brings it into familiar liqueur territory instead of steering us toward a more contemporary take on traditional old world flavors; however, the alcohol content is way overpowering with a strong, peppery burn clearly at odds with everything else that could make this a wonderful rum-based liqueur. This may be interesting for fans of beirão and sweet amaro.
