Bacardi Oakheart rum

Bacardi Oakheart

United States | Spiced | 35% ABV

Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.

This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.

Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

Ok if you mix it with rum...but pure not recommend at all.

Extremely cheap and I don’t understand why! Gorgeously smokey and oaky, I would drink it on a night out or at home x only downside is that it is a little too harsh for neat drinking

Ok so I read the reviews. Yes it probably has plenty of additions that give its flavor but if there was nothing else I would drink it.

Naja, den ganzen Abend pur trinken würd ich den nicht. 1-2 Glas vielleicht, aber nicht wirklich. Zum Mixen aber durchaus gut geeignet und nicht ganz so aufdringlich wie CM spiced.

Good spiced rum. A good price-performance ratio. I use it to make Cuba Libre

Not for the neat sipper. Only good as a cuba libre. Lots of caramel and other additional spices.

While this certainly isn't the fanciest of rums, it does serve a great purpose. No matter how many expensive bottles I have lingering in my cabinet, I almost always have a large bottle of Oakheart as my fallback mixer. It goes down easy, and is easy on the pocket! As always, I prefer my rum over ice with a healthy splash of Coke.

Caramel and vanilla are prominent in this rum, drank neat. Probably good mixer but I drink my rum neat. I actually expected a lot worse. Not bad.

I was going to throw the half bottle of this I had left away because I remember it being so bad, but when I revisited it I found that it actually had a bit of depth, especially for the price (I think I got it for like 8 dollars). Better than regular Bacardi, which just tastes like gasoline to me- I'll use it for a light rum punch down the road.
