Bacardi Oakheart rum

Bacardi Oakheart

United States | Spiced | 35% ABV

Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.

This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.

Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

I can't give enough praise to this Bacardi variety. I don't usually like the brand and this particular rum is in a lower tier price segment, but the flavour is well balanced, the rum is smooth, fruity and yet leaves a rich, warm aftertaste that begs for another sip.

It works straight up or with coke, and is definitely not a special occasion rum, but a most excellent everyday drink.

Er schmeckt künstlich und hat mit klassischen Rum nichts zu tun. Als Mixgetränk jedoch ganz gut.

It was my favourite "rum" (spirit drink) to drink with cola.

My preferred way to drink it in coffee:

Coffee, dairy milk, honey, cinnamon and one lid filled to the brim with this type of Rum.

Superb.

You can of course also drink it mixed and neat and on ice but I prefer the first manner for this type of Rum. To really get the 18th and 19th century taste, there are of course many better brands.

Decent taste for a spiced rum but just like most Bacardi rum it’s nothing special.

Samotný som ho len pre zvedavosť ochutnal,no nie je to rum na večerné vychutnávanie. V miešanych nápojoch však vynikne jeho nasladlost a Cuba libre rozhodne nepokazí.

I was always a rum and coke guy, but found myself in San Antonio Texas for work when I found out the owner of my favorite soccer team wanted to move my team to Austin. Only spiced rum in the shops was Oakheart. Bought a bottle and some coke. Soon ran out of coke. Found the Oakheart straight to be pretty tasty. Not my preferred today but good in a pinch.
