Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.
Ok if you mix it with rum...but pure not recommend at all.
The finish of this rum in old bourbon casks gives it a distinct flavour and its one that I really enjoy with coke. I enjoyed this rum, especially considering the price and would choose this over Morgan's spiced or other supermarket equivalents.
Shouldn't think it possible, but this one was actually too sweet.
Perhaps they've added sugar too it?
The spicyness and woodyness was alas a bit ruined for me :-/
About what I expected from Bacardi. The best I can say is it's not actually unpleasant tasting like CM.
I'm not sure.. You could drink it with your coke after you had a few good drinks before. But not as a starter.
gout épicé mais qui ne domine pas, type vanille, sympa je pense en cocktail.
Nothing to do in the category rum. I would not bestowed my worst enemy with this poor water
Amazing considering the bacardi bat on the front of the bottle. not even in the same class. low end of mixing rum. But I would but this Bacardi.
the maple brings out a odd taste which is different , it has a flavor I like and smell, has a bit of a after taste that reminds me of whiskey and not the smooth rum taste I prefer.
I will probably keep a bottle of it around for use from time to time as the odd flavor is something I like just not the whiskey like after taste and bite .
I have only had about 3 shoots of it and normally prefer to have tried a half a bottle over time before really thinking about doing a rating.
So Bacardi is running out of ideas and this is where it's taken them
Det vil være en straf for en Cola, at blive blandet op med denne Rom.
Tastes good with cola . No reason to drink only cola; becouse you can add something better in.
Goes great when served ice cold, with a peace of orange diped slightly in cinamon.
a pleasant vanilla spiced rum, mix with coke lime and ice.
Goede rum voor een mix met cola, vriendelijke prijs ook.
Very good light spiced rum. Better than Morgans spiced rum .
It's fine if you haven't got any better. The taste is smooth but simply not the smooth taste i prefer.
Love this rum, nice, light and smooth, good for drinks and neat.
lekkerste van alle Bacardi lekker met cola en betaal baar
They serve this at most of the bars around here. For a club rum it's one of the better, but still not good enough.
Betaalbare rum in de categorie van Captain Morgan..
I know, i know. I should try more Bacardi`s and grow in to this at least for me new wave of putting clear rums into spotlight.
I don`t like Bacardi`s rums whatsoever, but this one was brought to me by an friend who did not know this so, im just glad it was this Oakheart and nothing else.
Taste is really different from white bacardi, really nicely spiced and i was so suprised about the set of flavours and smokeyness they have in this one.
Colour is nice and bright, also sent is nice and not hitting too hard. Really nice for bacardi lovers who like to spice it up a bit.
With coke it worked, but i prefer my rums straight so. Just an opinion.
A dark smooth spiced rum. I tasted this at a party one time and had a bunch of negative thoughts prior to the tasting. I enjoyed at the party and decided (due to price!) to purchase a bottle. I am very pleased that I did. Not only is it a very smooth rum, but has a nice flavor as well. Not overly sweet, a good balance of vanilla and cinnamon. I drank the bottle on the rocks with Coke. I did my neat tasting and again was very surprised how smooth it was. I feel this rum can stand on its own with the rest of the pack.
Spiced, kjøpt på Flesland
I gotta say, I don't hate this stuff. If you're just mixing it with coke, it's kind of sugary garbage. But if you use it to add some character to an overly dry, or bland rum, it's quite satisfactory (5/1 ratio - shitty rum/oakheart + coke). Worth having a bottle on hand in case of emergency.
