Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.
Way too much vanilla in this rum which impacts the rum taste so much that you might forget you're drinking rum.
Bacardi usually gets a bad reputation for poor rum with a great marketing team.
But I feel they have come out with a decent (not great) product. Its basically a butter scotch rum with a heaver hand on the brown sugar. Drinking it straight its nothing special but in a cocktail it shows its dominants and its on individual take on the drink. I recon give it ago with
50ml clear apple juice
50ml ginger ale
and a squeeze of lime juice
all on ice in a highball glass
Au top pour mélanger avec un coca, ou avec citron+sucre.
Par contre assez moyen seul.
Comparable au Captain Morgan Spiced, il n'est pas mauvais en Cuba Libre.
A éviter en dégustation !
Not complex but good enough to sip neat kinda sweet and easy to sip
This rum takes me back to my early 20s, when rum for me was Captain Morgan and Bacardi. This used to be one of my favourites too mix with coke.
Wouldn't even think about trying it straight up.
From drinking Morgan to oakheart I can taste slightly different taste.
Between the even mixes of Morgan and the smoky robust flavor of Oakheart, fans of spiced rums should have their fill between the two. Brings to mind a classic grill with the smoke of charcoal seeped into the meat.
Im not a fan of flavoured rum.
Still i can not deny the Oakhearts sweet smell and taste. Not to bad as a sipper but probably suits best with Coke.
Tout comme captain morgan, ca pique et c'est pas bon ! De plus c'est bien chimique
Surprisingly nice and sweet.
Great for the little sip without the strong alcoholic taste.
reminds me a bit of a Whisky, at least u can drink it straight up.Id still mix it
This is an okay introduction to those who have never had rum before and don't want to or can't spend money. It's a lot better than garbage like Captain Morgan's and other such types of hogwash and also regular Bacardi.
It's drinkable neat, I can't imagine it in any sort of cocktail as it is way too sweet. The after taste is nothing but pure egg nog. No distinctive flavors to speak of. It's passable.
Being new to the drinking community for any kind of drink, and after having tried Vodka, I wasn't sure if I would find something I like. I tried Captain Morgan which wasn't bad but still not a right fit, I happened to pick a bottle up today noting the cheaper price and I have to say that it tastes really good, it has a great initial taste, that alcohol middle taste, and a smooth great aftertaste. Since I haven't had the opportunity to try many other brands, I will only rate this a 7 but I would recommend it to anybody looking for a smooth rum.
very good mixed with cola, but certainly not straight up. Best from common Bacardi's rums.
ze základních dostupných rumů je asi nejlepší. Chutná lépe než Captain, a je cenově dostupný
Comparde to the other Bacardis this stuff is much better, than most other Bacardis in this price area. So if you have a choice, take this one. It comes good with coke. Typicall party mixer.
Not a bad taste, although not quite on par with Captain Morgan, and pleasant to taste. Found it nice to drink with cola or straight, not as strong as others though.
its a tasty spiced rum the oakheart brings out a nice taste
I was surprised , this is quite nice , especially with a good ginger beer , still nowhere near Barcardi 8 but O.K on a budget !
was told by the bartender at the Bacardi factory that this was the best Bacardi for drinking straight or on the rocks. Oak was a prominent flavor, but overall I did not enjoy.
Light and smooth with a candied anise finish that ends in a light oak. Easily sippable, but would work better as a unobtrusive mixer as it leaves a little "something" on the tongue that I can't quite reckon with.
