United States | Spiced | 35% ABV
Launched in 2011, Bacardi Oakheart is the newest addition to the extensive Bacardi collection.
This spiced rum is aged for 1 to 2 years, filtered using a proprietary process, and then flavored with various spices including maple, nutmeg, cinnamon and honey.
Bacardi Oakheart took over two years to name and more than 2700 names were considered. The winner, Oakheart, is a reference to the charred American white oak barrels that house the rum while it ages.

Not for the neat sipper. Only good as a cuba libre. Lots of caramel and other additional spices.

This one is my first dark(er) rum. Only drinker flavored or bacardi original rums before. I really liked this, but not to drink pure or on the rocks. I will recommend it as a classic Cuba Libre. Good flavor. But nothing special

Good to mix with coke or cherry 7-up. Spiced but not to much prominent vanilla flavour.

I frown upon purchasing Bacardi rums because of the fact that they are such a conglomerate and produce mass quantities of rum. Usually, when you think in terms of quantity, something has to be sacrificed. Almost always it's quality!
Having said this, their Oakheart product is not bad. Obviously, vanilla is the predominant note followed by baking spices, caramel, brown sugar, marshmallow and oak with some dried fruit thrown into the mix.
It is pretty smooth though on the sweet side with little burn.
In a way this reminds me somewhat of Pink Pigeon from the Mauritius.
Not bad as a mixer but less desirable as a rum to enjoy neat.

A better tasting spiced. Sippable on its own in a pinch, but better when mixed for the sweetness
Could be drank on the rocks but intended with coke I think

Tastes like a golden marshmallow when mixed with Coke. Not much depth as far as complexity of flavors, but definitely drinkable in a pinch. Easy to see why it's a standard house spiced at some bars.

I gotta say, I don't hate this stuff. If you're just mixing it with coke, it's kind of sugary garbage. But if you use it to add some character to an overly dry, or bland rum, it's quite satisfactory (5/1 ratio - shitty rum/oakheart + coke). Worth having a bottle on hand in case of emergency.

Kind of sirup of vanilla, good after a dessert....
'oak barrels to impart a rich and smoky taste'
"Bacardi Oakheart rum review by The Ultimate Rum Shack"
Smooth but it is also very sweet.
"There's a slight burn of alcohol and the spicing is maybe just a bit too much. There is also a slightly jarring aftertaste. Itβs a bit smoky and oily."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
