Alkohol: 40 %
Původ: Kostarika
Aroma: Nenáročná rumová vůně, která není nijak bohatá. Jemně vanilka a náplň rumových pralinek, navrch příjemně dřevitá, trochu nasládlá. (80 b)
Chuť: Chuť už je bohatší, než aroma. Vanilka, dřevo, mléčná čokoláda. Dozvuk je ostřejší, štiplavý. (82 b)

Picked up in NH state store at $24.99. For the price, this Centenario is not bad. I have had other rums at higher price and they did not meet the level of this one. Nose is pleasant, Warm taste, easy finish. Comparing this to Bacardi 8 at the same price point, this one is definitely one to try. The only surprise was the twist top and slow pour bottle.
Just got a bottle for Father’s Day. Decent sipping rum.
A nice light mahogany colour with good legs in the glass. Alcohol smell goes away after resting leaving a balanced woody nose. Not too dry with vanilla and a nice woodyness on the palate. Little burn and easily sipped. Only $37 at LCBO
For the money... if you enjoy an evening cocktail... every evening.. .You can't go wrong here. On the rocks of course. ALSO works well when mixing with various juices, ginger ale, or any concoction you can dream of. At $26 a bottle... experiment away. A worthy bar stock.
Came across this rum on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It's very approachable and easily enjoyed with a few ice cubes. Outstanding value!
Smooth nose and taste. Thou somewhat generic flavors
I really like the Ron Centenario Rums, and I like this one as well. But to me, this falls just a bit shy of their 12 year (more sophisticated) and 7 year (sweeter).
Smells and tastes of brown sugar and caramel. Not as smooth as their 12 year and their even older rums, but good. If you're into budget rums, I'd recommend their 7-year to this (or better still the 12-year if you can afford it). But this is good too.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My third Centenario, after the 5yo and 7yo, and it is becoming very clear to me that Centenario is making rums that are absolutely not to my taste at all.
A very light nose dominated by alcohol with some vanilla and sweet notes. On the palate it starts a bit nutty and that makes this 9yo the first that shows a little taste and character of its own. Too bad the nutty part has also a musty cellar/clammy shoes vibe to it making it not that attractive. Like the younger versions this one also has an unpleasant bitter ending caused by (what I suspect) artificial sweeteners. It stands out a little less here probably because this one has more oaky flavours as well.
How much of this rum is actually 9 years old beats me as it is, despite the sweeteners, still harsh like a very young rum. Not worth my time and money I am afraid.
