Finally opened this rum and now i have decided to give it a detailed review. Slept a few nights before i knew how to rate this right. This is a high end (product of the brand centenario) spanish style solera. It is a blend of 8, 15 and 30 yo rums. It must have been sweetened as far as i can judge after trying it. Pricewise it is available around 100 €. After trying it i can perfectly understand why so many fellows rated this a perfect 10. However some people werent impressed at all. And i can understand that also. Let me explain why. It has a very pleasant, harmless and beautiful taste. This rum treats you like a capricious royalty. The alcohol is very good contained. It is just perfect if rum is supposed to accompany your evening. However if you expect this rum to be the main event it will probably miserably fail this task. It doesnt challenge your tastebuds a lot and the taste is nice but also random. Sugar doesnt help much to show its character. Conclusion: if know what to expect (from a spanish style solera) and what not, this rum is worth its money. It is very enjoyable at right circumstances.

Smells of dark fruit and butterscotch. Tastes the same with a late, light burn.

Birthday of my wife was the ideal reason to spend some money for Great rum…. I decided to connect the 30 years of Ron Centenario with 30 years birthday of the best human which I ever met.
Great choice… in both cases 😃
Wow… this is the best rum we ever tried - dont be said for the money… it’s worth it !!!

First sip was all green apples.

Waited five minutes between first and second sip and got a lot more caramel/oak.

Waited another five minutes and got… s’mores? I dunno. It’s delicious.

Centenario 30 is a bit different from 25 and 20, flavour goes to another direction... much less sweetness than other two which is ok, but it is a bit simple for this price. Smell reminds me Opthimus 21 & taste is closer to Unhiq XO which is cheaper but also bit expensive for 500 ml (if you think that Quorhum 30 from same company is older and much cheaper). Some days before I had taste again (as many times) Zacapa Roayal (which is also overpriced as all drinks over 200 euro) and that was richer-bolder-rounder & sweeter with many different types of aging (bourbon, cognac, wine, cherry, smoked & toasted oak....) and all them together produce great complexity, natural sweetness and make the blend more oily, interesting complexity and intense flavours!! Something which in Centenario 30 was missing for the price (as in Unhiq XO & Milonario XO). Flavour profile is medium sweet some light spices, vanilla, slightly velvet feeling and at the end some oak of whiskey-bourbon but soft. It is balance and nice dont get me wrong but not that unique, a touch more "special" than most rums with price around 40-70 euro. You can get at half price Quorhum 30 which is great expirience, more wooden toasted casck which I like, or El Dorado 21... I dont say they are much better, are about equal and they have their problems but at least with character & much cheaper!! And I can understud some people who says that love more 20 or 25 which got more flavours... For expirience drinkers value for money rums I would suggest are El Dorado 21, Ron Cubaney 30, Quorhum 30 and maybe Melteco Selection 1987 (bit pricey but nice experience). Further from that all Centenario 30 is a nice quality rum with delicate smoothness and enjoyable (but until there).

Best I have had to date. Unbelievably smooth, gave it a 9 because there is always something better out there?

Jemný, sladký rum s ovocitou chutí. Láhev nádherně provedená. Ve vůni převládá spálený karamel a dřevo. Chuť lehce medově násladlá s vyrovnanou kombinací karamelu,dřeva a zeleného ovoce. Dochuť příjemná,středně dlouhá. Je znát staření v sudech po whisky, které mi u rumu úplně nesedí, takže nemůžu dát za plných 10, ale v uvozovkách pouhých 9.

I received it today in the mail, so I couldn't resist tasting it immediately. Round in the mouth, just sweet enough so that anyone who wants can enjoy this noble drop if he likes it. The best I was allowed to enjoy until today. The beautiful bottle is well kept in my home bar.
