Tastes alongside ED 21. Aroma is super deep and complex, more so than the El Dorado to start with. Taste is strong brown sugar and complex. This is absolutely delicious and the first go-around we both liked it better than Dorado 21. On last pass, I thought Dorado was slightly more deep and complex, with this one being more brown sugar forward and not quite as complex. Either way, letโs call it a tie. But this bottle goes for $60 instead of $100 like Dorado. 95+
Skvฤlej rum, za mฤ podobnรก liga jako Zacapa 23, takลพe v poลรกdku.
Very sweet. Smooth. Do not mix. Not sure itโs a ton better than the 20 yr.
Hard to find in some regions, but I've been gifted this one twice and it's quite good. Has a great balance of sweetness and kick. Extremely smooth. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
It's my first review on this community, it's definitely one of the best Ron I've ever drink, I'm not a sweet fan, but this one is very nice, a bit of Vanilla.
Very smooth. Low burn. Molasses and banana. Got it in NYC for $75! My new favourite.
There are often times a lot of dispute about rum lovers, when it comes to solera rum. Something everyone can agree on is, that we all love a good tasting rum. This is one of those.
Nose: Caramel, wood and a hint of tropical fruit
Taste: Vanilla, oak, citrus and a small hint of warm and sweet bananas in the long aftertaste
Overall: Maybe one of the best solera rums, that I have come across. The taste from the cask is clearly present, which makes this a smooth and lovely rum from start to (long) finish.
Smooth and flavorful with no harsh burn or heat allowing you to enjoy what the master has created for you. A bit on the sweet side affording this the accolade of being a nice dessert rum. Christmas cake, baking spice, vanilla and some oakiness shine through creating a pleasing rum presentation.
One of the more expensive rums however, having said this, it is a 25 year old!
Enjoy this one neat...
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The first thing I noticed upon opening the bottle was the aroma. Fantastic! It gave hint of the sweet flavors contained therein. Upon sipping it I noticed it was a little more viscous than most rums. Then the flavors washed over the tongue. Maybe it is just me but there seem to be a bit of an orange zest to it along with kind of a vanilla flavor. Also definitely a strong burn which lasts a little while but nothing sudden and drastic. Definitely a very recommendable sipping rum. My one disappointment about it was the bottle. One would think that such a fine rum would be worthy of an equally fine and ornate bottle but the "seal" below the neck is just a cheap decal doing a poor imitation of a wax seal and the label is just plastic adhered with glue. At least there is a real cork and not a screw cap. [NOTE: Now if I could just lay my hands on a bottle of Ron Centenario 30-Year. Test the law of diminishing returns.]
