I love this rum. It's super tasty and a really easy sipper. It is more warming than other rums or spirits at the proof but it's pleasant.

Aroma - Oak, cane syrup, rubber, brown sugar.

Flavor - a touch of sweetness, with some drying sherry notes. Light winter spice notes - clove, anise. A little funk.

It doesn't linger long though - I wish it did. Overall a great rum that I will continue to drink but not the best rum I've ever tried.

I was really looking forward to this evening because I can finally test the Centenario 20, about which I have already heard and read (here) many positive opinions. So, let's start and open the bottle.
Nose : sherry, almonds, dried fruits, a little alcoholic spiciness and hints of oak . A typical rum without a highlight, smelled many times, but okay.
Palate : after a short alcoholic kick : sherry again, vanilla, undefined dried fruits, oak, hints of pepper and a little bitterness. But also sweetness.
All in all pleasant, but not extraordinary. More boring
Finish : medium long. fruity, oaky, nutty, smooth ... and boring again
Conclusion : good price-performance ratio (I paid 38 Euro), but also nothing special. A standard rum like many others. 6 to 7 points

Picked this up in Costa Rica. Great bottle for the price. We'll balanced, perfect sweetness level, nice spicy finish. I liked this more than the 25, which was too oaky for me.

I opened this bottle last night, and did a comparison to my 19y Presidente Marti which is my favorite rum (not that i've tried many).
Color is basically the same, aroma and flavor are also very similar sweet and complex. I find this tad more sharp in comparison to the Presidente, and somehow the Presidente havind tad more complex flavor tho i can't do better analyse of it. Either way , both have nice long finish.
I like it a lot, but since 19y Presidente is tad better, yet it's cheaper i'd go with another bottle or 19y Presidente or try the 23y next time.

I generally like sweeter rums and the Centenario 20-Year fits well to that category. Great flavour and after-taste but i found it a little to sweet for me. To sum up a pretty good sweet rum with a reasonable price.

This is the best rum I have ever tasted no question, and is why it's called the "pappy of rum". It's got everything, and is on par with the finest whiskey you could bring to the table. Barbados is rum, and Centenario is king

This centenario 20 is just great. For that age is sweet.
