Bacardi Gold rum

Bacardi Gold

United States | Gold | 40% ABV

Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.

Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

Its better than their white or the oakheart. I bought it to taste it, and that is all I did with it and then put it back on the bottom shelve behind everything.

Far too many good, reasonably priced gold runs out there to insult your palate with this drivel.
Stay away.

College kids rum or bar mixer. Nothing good I can say, not even rum and coke.

If you don't know anything about rum or just hate a good rum and coke then this is for you. It's a very low end rum, like most Bacardi rums, but it's not there worst it just tastes like cheap alcohol with hints of rum. I'd stay away from it.

This is remarkably tasteless. I don't know how they get away with calling this rum.

Kinds of reminds me of Ricola honey and eucalyptus cough drops and it pretty much ends there. Harsh. What flavor there is, is drowned out by the harshness. I actually am now in the mood for some Ricola. Will need to buy some to get rid of this taste. Happy that I spent only $2 on a 50ml but even that may have been too much.

Ironically, slightly "superior" to its clear, more popular brother (named Superior for some dumb reason,) this is still pretty bad. Honestly, the only difference between this and the silver is caramel and it isn't enough to make much of a difference but it DOES make a slight difference. It at least has a small amount of taste (I know, light rum isn't supposed to have taste,) that helps kick down the kerosene smell and flavor enough to make it slightly better. I still wouldn't recommend it to a rummy but if you are a "Bacardi" fan and don't want to spend much money, it's better than Superior by a hair but not by a whole point.

Do yourself a favor... don't buy this. Get kraken... get MALIBU for all I care

Harsh and one-dimensional; not for drinking straight yet more expensive than other adequate mixer level rums.

This is worse than Bacardi White Superior. An awful golden rum. Bitter synthetic taste
