Cartavio XO

I was introduced to this rum by a friend and wow, what a drink! A hint of alcohol out of the bottle, it quickly evaporates and is replaced by caramel, spice and a little brown sugar. Almost no burn. I use this rum to show skeptics that rum can be drank neat and enjoyed like a fine Scotch or Cognac.

Perfect rum. The aromas and the taste are just well balanced.

One of my favourite rums, the Cartavio XO hits all the spots with a nicely balanced sweetness that completes the spicy flavour just perfectly. Had it been slightly more aromatic and lengthy in the flavour it could easily be an all time best rum ever!

I like to smoke cigars with my rum and this one just blends in perfectly. Highly recommend to try this one with a nice cigar you get so many different flavors, not too sweet and very well balanced definitely worth the price !

Smooth as all get out, definitely vanillas and caramel. This sits next to the El Dorado 21 and the Angostura Batch #2.

Wooow the bottles shape the colour of this rum woow what an presentation and it doesn't stop there. The nose the taste so sweet honey vanilla neat fruity doesn't overpower in any whays. Its an very beautiful Rum whit the presentation ant taste all in all 10 p

I got a bottle from Peru with no prior warning. I opened and knew it was special. I didnt think I'd find anything to sway me from my opinion that Diplomatico Exclusiva was the best I'd tasted. One ice cube or neat does the trick. Deep developing flavours to savour. Its truly special.
Can't recommend Cartavio XO too highly. Working out how to get another bottle is the hard part. Not available in Australia.

Da sempre sulla mia lista dei rum da provare, ho avuto l'occasione di assaggiarlo in un bar di Zurigo e ne sono rimasto sorpreso. Molto piacevole al palato. Si trattava però del sesto o settimo rum quella sera, per cui la mia recensione vale quello che vale...
