What a nice gift! Good rum. Unfortunately Not available in the Netherlands. Bought in the dominican rep. I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you David!
Strong alcohol taste that makes it hard to identify flavors beyond caramel and vanilla. After you let it breath, it is possible to identify a fruity taste as well. It has a dry, woody aftertaste with a slightly strong kick at the end.
Recommendable if you like stronger spirits and not as sweet as the usual rums.
In nose: sweet and vanilla; some fruit as well. Remember, you have to let it breath, otherwise you will only be able to Id a lot of alcohol.
It has a smoothness and sweetness unlike any rum I have ever tasted neat. Much better straight. Overpowers mixed drinks.
Vyborny rum z Dominikanskej republiky. Vo voni je ovocie a alkohol, jemne a prijemne pitie, dozvuk - teply, citit alkohol. Za mna velmi dobry rum za prijemnu cenu.
Nez épicé. Assez doux, mais rien de particulier. Trop simple. Goût de barrique présent.
The price is less than 30€.. incredible !
The color is light amber, the first flavor on the nose is mild sweet sugar, after the alchol is growing and stay.
On the mouth the first sensation is the alchol, but for 1 second after you get immediately the sugar flavour with some banana and mango, vanilla , all very milded . Vanish fast in the tongue, the tail is excelent. Price/taste 10 !
Nice aroma and color, there is a strong punch of alcohol in the first sip but let it sit for five minutes before tasting and that would make justice. Indeed excellent value for such bottle.
El rom es muy bueno es suave y un sabor agradable ellos sacaron el aniversario de la compañia
Read some of the reviews here, did not sound very good. I bought some at duty free in Dominican as a reccomendation from a friend. I found it a very nice rum. Good flavor, not strong alcohol taste or aroma as some stated. I like a rum with a strong taste. Not like Bacardi, which I find boring. I would buy this rum again
Notes of caramel, wood, fruit, very smooth with little to no burn
"It’s smooth and quite dry."
"Ron Bermudez Aniversario rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
Has quite a fruity nose – banana and coconut a little raisin.
"The buttery side of the rum comes out more initially on the tongue. It’s smooth and quite dry. It has a long finish. Surprisingly there is little by way of a smokiness or oaked flavour. ."

This rum has some character, it is not such an easy forgettable rum as many of its Dominican counterparts. The nose starts with furniture polish, followed by spices, dried fruits, hazelnuts, toffee, ends with a bit of oak. The taste starts with sweet toffee and nuts which turns into rather dry spices and herbs, the aftertaste is butterscotch with dry spices and pepper ending. Reasonably smooth. Does not seem to have any sugar added. Expected a bit more wood on the palate - considering it states it is 12 years old - but for the money, well, I wont grumble. Had to reevaluate this one, first bottle - probably a bad batch - had an unpleasant bitterness in the taste, pronounced spices, especially clove, there was also a noticeable alcohol bite, and it got only 5 from me. Considering the low price (on par with e.g. Pussers Blue) I ventured to buy another bottle, and it is considerably better. Not an outstanding sipper, but definitely can be sipped, great value for the money, in character it is closer to rums from Venezuela (Santa Teresa, Cacique) than to Barcelo or Brugal.
