There are definitely better rums out there but for higher prices. But I haven't tasted anything better for the same price. You get what you pay for. The plastic badge on the bottle looks cheap, I think.
Many years ago, upon moving to the DR, this was my "go-to" premium rum. To this day, I still enjoy its distinctive dryness...not overly sweet. Bermudez product is getting harder to find, thus worth picking up when you see it.
Interessting - rich in alcohol but pleasant - character - ultra cheap
Fľaška pripomína skôr koňak. treba ho poriadne vyvetrať kým sa napijete potom je lepší.. Chuť vôbec nieje sladká, takmer horká.
This one is a bit harsh, quite a lot of alcohol on the smell and taste, not a rum i enjoy neat or on the rocks. will give it a shot as a mixer.
In der Nase Dörrfrüchte über Orangennoten, Vanille, doch deutlich alkoholisch.
Auf der Zunge sehr alkoholisch, kurz leicht schokoladiger Anflug, dann vanillig. Trocken.
Nicht allzu langer, holziger, warmer Abgang. Etwas bitterer Nachgeschmack.
This rum was beyond expectation.
It's has very good basic flover.
Midium bodied with great balance of vanilla and caramel flovers and sweetness.
"Typical Rum", for me.
This was the first "nice" rum I had tasted. I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic about 25 years ago and was shocked at the contrast with UK supermarket rum. I had not looked for it in the UK until recently and almost didn't buy it as I was worried it would not live up to my memory. Luckily it was every thing I remembered.
"It’s smooth and quite dry."
"Ron Bermudez Aniversario rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
Has quite a fruity nose – banana and coconut a little raisin.
"The buttery side of the rum comes out more initially on the tongue. It’s smooth and quite dry. It has a long finish. Surprisingly there is little by way of a smokiness or oaked flavour. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Great value for the money

This rum has some character, it is not such an easy forgettable rum as many of its Dominican counterparts. The nose starts with furniture polish, followed by spices, dried fruits, hazelnuts, toffee, ends with a bit of oak. The taste starts with sweet toffee and nuts which turns into rather dry spices and herbs, the aftertaste is butterscotch with dry spices and pepper ending. Reasonably smooth. Does not seem to have any sugar added. Expected a bit more wood on the palate - considering it states it is 12 years old - but for the money, well, I wont grumble. Had to reevaluate this one, first bottle - probably a bad batch - had an unpleasant bitterness in the taste, pronounced spices, especially clove, there was also a noticeable alcohol bite, and it got only 5 from me. Considering the low price (on par with e.g. Pussers Blue) I ventured to buy another bottle, and it is considerably better. Not an outstanding sipper, but definitely can be sipped, great value for the money, in character it is closer to rums from Venezuela (Santa Teresa, Cacique) than to Barcelo or Brugal.
