United States | Aged | 40% ABV
Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.
This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

While not extraordinary, at $20 a bottle it's a great value and better than all but a handful of rums. It's not overpowering. Carmel followed by oak are the strongest characteristics. You'll pick up a hint of vanilla and some berries too. It is not overly sweet. A good beginners choice too. If the haters ever tried this in a blind taste test it would silence them forever. This is my go to rum.

Smooth, just the right amount of oak or residue of the barrel. Dryer than the Gold, I enjoy sipping it neat.

Bacardi 8 is somewhat cheap (33.19โฌ comparing to other, finer products) rum for the things it offers. It comes in a very nice bottle with a cork on the top that has a Bacardi logo. I find that pleasing to the eye. When it comes to the taste, I absolutely adore it. Light at the beginning, and somewhat harsh at the end while releasing all the flavours that last for some time in the throat. I noticed that Bacardi 8 has that whiskey after taste which is, in my opinion, always a plus to have. I would definitely recommend to open this bottle in a small circle of friends at a private gathering.
TLDR: A great rum from Bacardi. Very enjoyable for that price.

found this very good, even better when you take the price into consideration. Really good entry level sipper.

I never liked Bacardi, and I did not think could make a rum so good for this price range...instead it was really a nice surprise. Nothing outstanding, obvious, but recommended at this price!

Basic, not too sweet, maybe too thin in the finish.

Smoky, Woody almost Scotch. Not big different from Bacardi Reserva.
Very pleasant as a sipping rum. Good aroma, sweet taste with no other aftertaste. Based on price this is a top mixer on my list. Tried it with some of the classic recipes such as Rum Old Fashioned with excelent results.

Smells sweet but also oaky.
"It is a well balanced rum. When sipped, or mixed with a little ice or water the Bacardi 8 is very decent. Itโs very smooth and easy to sip."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is the one that started my fascination with rum. I met my wife while visiting PR years ago and was able to get this for super cheap on the island. The flavor of Bacardi with its tropical fruit bite and the finish of sweet smokey/ginger/oak/light caramel that's not too dark or heavy like some darker rums can sometimes be. It is hot as a straight sipper but excellent as a mixer. Pure nostalgia for me every time I have it. Warning:if you drink it on the rocks it ends up tasting like Bacardi Superior and becomes too bitter on the finish.
