Only the most successful inspirations become legacies; legacies that are cherished and passed down from generation to generation. "Centuria" is our most guarded family treasure. It is the result of patience and passion for the details, embodied in our family's rum-making tradition since 1908. The taste of our legacy.

Got this from a friend for walking his dog while he was on vacation, best rum gift ever!! Smooth rum, very enjoyable for sipping! I'm not in on all those "notes" and flavours some of you add to your review but i'd say give it a try if you can!
One of the smoothest most flavorful rums I have had the pleasure of tasting. Has notes of Vanilla Chocholate and some zest. Quite a sweet rum as well. I would compare the sweetness to Plantation XO but is even more smooth. The only debate here is if it's worth double the price of plantation XO even if it's a notch above it in terms of flavour complexity and smoothness.
It's the most hyped Abuelo rum at RR tastong session with a nice brand presentation.
The nose is mild and not too rich, sour with humid wood and rainforest notes. One can also sense burnt wood and some raisins, vanila and grapes.
This rum is very sweet but not as sweet as other Abuelos. It is little spicy and alcoholic, woody, with some sourness and thick texture.
Doubtlessly it is the best Abuelo rum, unfortunately I learnt that Abuelo rums are just not for me. Fortunately, however, now I know I don't need a full bottle at home and that's why sample tastings are such a good idea
Sweet and leaves a nice taste. Goes down with a nice note. Definitely add to your collection. Good Sipper neat or with a few drops of water to open up
Tons of brown sugar and molasses, both nose and taste. Medium spice with slightly oily finish with a long tail. Nutty, deep and dark, makes me think of a cigar bar in Panama. Not overly complex, guessing the weekend rum drinker will absolutely love it while the ‘pros’ will be bored. I could see stocking it as a great rum for guests, but I personally wouldn’t sip that often - just a little too sweet and not that interesting.
molasses. sweet.
i smell vanilla, milkchocolate, fruity tunes.
i taste fruit, full and dense on the tongue, creamy. oak, pepper, only some. chocolate.
5/10 - add 5 points if you like it sweet.
in compare to the 12 this rum is muuuch more filigree. full of aroma, but with a light body. much more complex, as his cheaper brother.
Was expecting a lot more for $125. Sat on the shelf for for over a year waiting for that great afternoon to have it with a fine cigar. Unfortunately I was sadly disappointed due to its whisky-esque nose and profile (I do not like nor drink whiskey). What I've discovered after sampling many rums (too many according to my wife) is that I love rums that have a molasses base and relegate cane juice based rums, like Ron Abuelo, as mixers.
It's not that it is a bad rum, I just shouldn't have added it to my collection with it being a cane juice based rum. Need to start doing my research before adding expensive bottles to the collection.
Just bought this excellent Rum and i have to order one more.
What an enormous experience of flavours

Very nice rum lots of depth and character, but at this price point there are far better selections. Solid 8 but I reserve 9s for superior rums.
12/25/2021 Update Christmas Day 2021, after enjoying all Abuelo rums this past year I decided to revisit Centuria, and ended up with 2 bottles for Christmas. Great brown color I love,
Notes of port with little or no alcohol scent. Port taste immediately lingering with massive depth. Only 40% alcohol and definitely sweet but in a complex way with a lot of depth. At $175 bottle today it’s at the upper end of my spectrum thus a Christmas rum.pairs awesome with my Fuente Don Carlos cigar and my favorite over the 3 Cuban and one Peruvian rum in this sampling. Update rating to solid 9.
