Abuelo Gran Reserva 12-Year

I liked it nice nose nice color but left me a bit short for price point. Might try again but feel 7 is fair.Tried again and agree with most posts, taste like added sugars, not complex, not annoying, better options at this price.

Pour un rhum de 12 ans, il est très bon. Il se déguste très bien seul, sans glace ou accompagnement.

This is a well made, smooth rum with a great initial impression. The aftertaste of coffee and maybe a hint of chocolate leaves me flat however.

It’s very drinkable and I’d pick this over many others. It has a dark, rich taste and I’d give a higher rating if the notes were more fruity or vanilla.

Edit* after four months experience, I am upgrading this rating. The flavors of this are very nice. Lots of brown sugar, and a little spice. At first, my lack of experience and bias toward vanilla made me rate it lower but now it goes from 7 to 8.

Vol en zoet voor in de mond, vervolgens smaken van gebrande koffie, bitterkoekjes en overrijpe mango. Smaak blijft lang hangen en verandert van toon.
Zeer fijne rijke rum

Een heerlijke rum met veel smaak .
Een amandel achtige nasmaak .
Van de totale proeverij de beste na mijn smaak.

Bardzo dobry przedstawiciel stylu hiszpańskiego. Sięgam po niego kiedy mam ochotę na coś dobrego. Najlepszy z lodem i "psikiem" limonki. Jest słodki, ale nie za słodki. Dobrze ukryty alkohol. Bardzo dobry dla początkujących.

This bottle reminds me of drinking a very strong sherry. Its overtly sweet and just tastes so fake and wine infused. Overall this shit sucks. I cannot and will not suggest anyone purchase this. By far one of the worst rums from panama I have ever had.

First stroke is vanilla!!! I'm not a fan of vanilla flavour but this mixture between rum, caramel and dominant vanilla is perfect. Alcohol is very well covered.

I have yet to meet an Abuelo I didn't like, and this is no exception. While the 7-year goes fantastic with Coke (for me), this one I prefer neat. it is just that little smoother and more refined. Where the 7 has a slight edge to it, this one is quite polished. It doesn't have the complexity and depth of the Centuria, but at the price, one can't really expect that. As a day-to-day sipper, this one fits the bill nicely for me. Recommended.
