Abuelo Gran Reserva 12-Year

Díky recenzním jsem měl asi velké očekávání. Rum má pěknou barvu, krásné voní, chuť je taky fajn (ne až tak sladká), ale v dojezdu mi něco vadí.testován jen vzorek, tak možná ovlivněno jídlem/ náladou

Tried this rum at first in a tasting collection. It has a quite strong smell and first sip. Some wood flavor at first comes with a light burn then followed with some caramel sweetness.

Sowohl in der Nase als auch im Mund sehr gut, smooth.

Denne rom er smagt til Whisky messe 2022 i Kolding. Fin god smag..

...I had high hopes for this one, yet it did not give me the kick expected.

"Decent" is a good word to describe it.

For a straight sipper, I would rather recommend the El Dorado 12 year which has the same price range.

I compared this one to the diplomatico reserva, this one is a little less sweet and i found the diplomatico a little smoother. Still a great sipping rum.

Un rhum assez sympathique à boiré! Je le trouve un peu sec pour un rhum se mélasse mais il passe.

Initial astringent alcohol aroma with lots of spice present then settles down after a while in the glass. So much wood then , tobacco and a bit of leather comes through. Almost smells older than its 12 years ? Dry tasting with chocolate and raisin overtones still quite spicy but also sweet. Bit of a burn to the back of the throat , long finish.. Reminds me a bit of ED 15..
I cannot make my mind up if im into this or not , but i've got a litre a get through so hopefully it will grow on me , good value as well.

I was really loking forward to test this one and I was not dissapointed.

Nose - sweet, fruity scents followed by sherry, hints of smoke and woods. Theres some mustiness. Excellent amora. Presents very luxuriously. This is what I imagine, what diplomats would drink, when I was younger.

In taste there are fruity notes, bit of raisins and sherry. Oak with smoke. Taste is sweet but not so much. Still fine for me. Superb finish, leaving sherry, plantain and oak in mouth. Silk smooth tastefull drinking. For its price absolut gem. Beats more expensive bottles with ease. A must have. Perhaps more dryness would reap better success with connoisseurs. Best choice for standard sipping eavning.
