Tasted at Laka Lono on 7/25/19. A black pour. Faint aroma of chestnuts. Mild tingling palate. Rich earthy flavor. The aging process definitely improved this. I'm a fan.

This is a perfect, ideally balanced classic rum. I caught myself thinking that they deliberately lowered the strength to 37.5 in order to balance the aftertaste of 12 years of aging. And they did it brilliantly. Definitely will recommend it and buy again!

It's exactly what we say "value for money"! Really nice and smooth rum that can compete any other rum in this price!
Not too sweet but not dry also, with notes of caramel and full mouth!

Neměl sem žádná očekávání ,a neskutečná bomba. Kdybych měl whiskaři doporučit rum, určitě tenhle. Tahle nakouřený rum sem zatím neměl. Je tam samozřejmě i dřevo a je relativně sladký, nic suchého. 12 let v sudu jde opravdu poznat. Za mě takový nenápadný poklad.

The best for me today. Nice amber color. Mild, not too sweet. A spicy fragrance. I need more different Abuelos.

I had the opportunity to taste this rum online and since than I have been fixated on buying a bottle of this rum and trying it I have to say it has such a nice flavor of caramel its nice and smooth and its the first rum I have enjoyed since Captain Morgan. So to whomever reads this rating Please don't hesitate to buy this rum if you can its truly a marvel in its own right and the flavor palette is something to be desired. I give this rum a rating of 9/10.

Very nice and strong aroma, caramel, tropical flavor, accurate sweetnes, smooth alcohol - I felt in love with it :-) I use it every evening for sipping...

Okay, so the experience still fresh, I just opened the bottle (btw, I went for this rum after the ratings here, so I was really curios if I can find a great rum just based on other peoples opinion, and I did). It has a very strong coffey-caramelly smell and taste, I am really enjoying it, will try other Abuelos in the future.
