I heard a man describe a scotch as a 'scotchy scotch scotch' once. I think the idea was that it hit all those hallmarks, this is the same! I don't mean that in a bad way either, I really like Ord River Rum. It's a medium body Rum, and it's quite savoury with sparkles of molasses and toffee notes. I suppose it is younger than all the rums in a similar price bracket hence some of the low ratings but I'm a fan.
Not the best rum I’ve ever had, very light In taste and flavour. Probably good in a cocktail.
was eager to sample this and then wondered why.
was no impressed and was similar to bundy rum,
too kero tasting
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Good Australian Rum

There's not a huge amount of choice for rum in Australia despite the conditions being almost perfect for making it. Bundaberg has a stranglehold on the market. Thankfully the folks at Ord River make a pretty good drop. It's strong not particularly sweet and almost tastes like overproof but that's because it's proper rum, no adulterations. Let it mellow in the glass a little and you'll get your oak coming through with vanilla, orange and cinnamon.
