I purchased this rum solely on the ratings i have seen on this website and was very pleased with it. Nice flavour upfront with nothing taking over. Hints of caramel and oak, with almost a peaty flavour as well. Enjoyed it with ginger ale as well because it is not overly sweet. Well worth the purchase.

I think the first thing that surprised me was how short the bottle was. The pictures really make it look taller.

The nose has a tiny, tiny bit of astringency, but I didn't find anything off-putting in the taste. I'm actually at a loss to describe any specific flavors other than 'rum'. There's certainly nothing unpleasant or overbearing. I found it to be slightly fuller, in both taste and finish, than English Harbour 5. Not much of an aftertaste, though.

However, I'm most surprised that it's sweeter than what I expected, considering it doesn't have any added sugar or other flavourings. It goes to show what a quality product can taste like when you put a little time and effort into it.

Highly recommended.

This was a spur-of-the-moment purchase when I was at a Total Wine in Delaware. Living in Pennsylvania, my rum selection is fairly limited (though they are getting better), I had never seen nor heard of this brand. Naturally, the bottle design drew me in, and then I saw the 22$ price tag for a 10 year aged rum and figured it was worth a shot. Very good flavors and aroma. On the rocks is where it shines. Let it air out for about 10 minutes and then add ice. Really helps it open up and show its true colors. Excellent choice for the price. I can't think of a better aged rum at the price point.

RL Seale rum from Foursquare distillery is an awesome sipping rum. This is pure rum, no additives to change the product. You get a wonderful nose full after the pour, and caramel vanilla and toffee during the drink. A little burn but it's a really nice burn! With this price point it's something that should always be on your shelf! Cheers!

Foursquare has produced a nice array of fine rums in the past, and the R.L Seale 10 year rum is no exception. Luscious fruity, oaky and nutty with a hint of vanilla provides this rum a place in everyone's liquor cabinet.
I love the creative bottle design...

Drier rums, especially those from Barbados, tend to elegantly blend flavours instead of masking them (with sugar). This rum presents all the reasons why I like rum. There is no gimmick, no modification beyond the normal processing nor a sugary blanket pulled over the flavour profile.
Instead, it has a surprisingly mellow feel to it, with complex yet superbly balanced flavours.

It pours golden. I had it with one ice cube to open it up. The aromas are actually sweeter than the flavour, with peach, melon and vanilla dominating. However, as I mentioned before, it is the flavour and mouthfeel that are particularly good: very dry, apricot-like with an oaky background.
This RL Seale is extremely smooth in mouth, I just do not think the palate for a rum can get much better; mild to medium body I'd say, but not too thin, and an average duration caramel-dominated finish (still dry).
What a fantastic Bajan rum!

I've seen this one on the shelf at Total Wine and when it went on sale I picked up a bottle. I had high expectations and was not disappointed. I'm no connoisseur, but I know what tastes good to me and this one does. Nice and smooth by my standards. I put it a notch below my all time price/quality favorite, Bacardi 8. At first I thought the bottle was neat, but as I drank it down it became obvious that you can't see through the bottle and consequently have no idea how full it is until you pour. Doesn't have an effect on my rating. I'll be watching the sales.

This is a fantastic Barbados rum, simply put, the value for a delicious rum is why I give it a 9. I can’t really pin down why, but my mouth loves it, the nose is molasses, caramel, baking spices, smells rich and dark. Monsieur Seal can do no wrong in my book, so that also plays into why this tastes so good, will never be without a bottle of this around!
