Bacardi 151 rum

Bacardi 151

United States | Light

Bacardi 151 rum is one of the most well known overproof rums on the market. 151 tends to be the most common overproof strength because in pot stills this is the natural dillilation proof, but overproof rums in generally can range from 100-170+.

If you like starting fires or making your throat feel that way then buy this rum, if not then please for the love of all things holy buy something else.... ANYTHING else.
This rum can literally be poured in your gas tank and get you home. Sooo, 4 for versatility. Plus, you know, fire.
In all honesty, the only reason to buy this rum is as a floater in a drink that you set aflame and let the alcohol burn off. Otherwise this should really be marketed as a paint thinner.

Recieved only a slightly higher rating than Bacardi Superir from me simply because it takes less of it to forget you're drinking terrible rum.m spend the money to get a better bottle.... unless you're looking to lb wow party guests with flaming shots.

I've only used this to make holiday coquito, and even then it's still a bit harsh. Everyone complained it was too strong. I've since switched to regular proof rum.

A long time ago in Korea we cleaned out the local shop's stock of Bacardi gold rum and got the 151 instead. Was only after a drink or three did we discover that we were scoffing twice the proof than expected. Hilarity ensued.

Other than for crazy cocktails, not sure why this would be used for pleasure.

This is only good if you're at a party or if you're an alcoholic looking to save big, otherwise it is not good, very strong, not for me.

Definitely not for the faint of heart! I think the only purpose for this lava is to add potency to mixed drinks. To each his own but surely not my cup of tea

Best way to heat up a cocktail, it won't take over or get lost in the mix. Most will like it as a gift, but hope for lot's of mixer.

Yes its a very strong rum and its not going to be a smooth sipper but Bacardi's overproof offering is just too much. Fine in a very low ratio with a mixer but at that point why not go for a standard 40% rum.

...after reading all of the reviews, but still not my favourite overproof.
