Bought on recommendation from someone on this site, and never regreted it. A tasting pleasure, some oak, less bourbony than MGXO and smoother. Lasts for a nice while. I may be finding my fave here. Thank got this one is stable production, not a rarity. Affordable, too. A nine.

What a great agricole. Smooth aged and slightly sweet, yet maintaining the nice vegetal base. Easy on the nose and finish. Try it neat. Nice evening sipper, especially if you like agricoles

This one deserves a sample. It serves as a great ambassador for Rhum Agricoles.

Nose - Pear, Apple, Honey
Palate - Pepper, Earth, Spice

Mild burn that is slightly prolonged.

The JM Rhum Agricole XO from Martinique was produced in column style and was allowed to store in Ex Bourbon barrels for at least 10 years. The Rhum, which has won several gold medals, is bottled with a pleasant 45% alcohol. The Rhum comes in a green bottle which looks classy and valuable overall.

The dark brown rhum is wonderfully spicy in the nose. Grassy fresh, many aromas come to the fore. Lime, vanilla, baking spices, some mint, but also fruit are clearly recognizable. Absolutely fantastic. On the palate, the rhum is never sharp. The alcohol perfectly carries the aromas. Floral notes, bourbon and some burnt caramel harmonize wonderful. The sweetness is subtle but never in the foreground. The rhum is rather spicy. But never bitter. Full-bodied, the aromas remain standing for a very long time and the rhum remains surprisingly long with a clear taste profile in the mouth.

The JM XO is absolutely top class and a great Agricole. The 45% is on point and the JM scratches the 10 becauseyou get it under 50Euros. I can only recomand this rhum. Also very well suited to enter the world of Agricoles.

Der Rhum is eher würzig.

This one is all about subtleties. A very nice sipping rum. Not a show stopper but it wouldn’t be an everyday option if it were. I’ve had the Rhum JM VSOP as well and prefer this. Great option for the money

No nose at all, a bit harsh going down but very drinkable. Taste lingers a bit. Solid but not my favorite

I'm in love with Agricole Rhum and J.M. is one of my favorite distillery (if you go to Martinique a visit is more than worth). Compared to it's "younger" version, ambree, the taste is richer: tropical fruit, tropical wood, caramel and some spice, like pepper. The smell is rich too. I found it great. If I had to be honest, I was expecting something a bit smoother but in any case it's still a great product.

Yes, the nose is great, fruits and such. The body was not as dry as I expected, but maybe I am just getting used to it. Still, nothing profound going on, just smooth rum for cognac lovers.

A great sipping Rhum agricole. I enjoyed this very much but it’s expensive so I keep it for special occasions

I get a lot of grass, citrus, apricot from this rum. I wanted to try a rhum agricole to see the variety from the typical distilled molasses based rums. I have come to the conclusion that I am a molasses fan. While I can appreciate the difference now and I'm sure this is an excellent rhum, it is just not for me. It was not cheap ($75, I think), but some lessons are not cheap. Now I know.....
