Bumbu XO

Rather flat profile develops as you let the rum breathe, hints of pepper and oakiness come through, overall not bad rum but expected way more for the pricetag comparable to the standard Zacapa, Zaya, Plantation XO and other similar rums in the sweetened but good category.

Balanced and tastes really good. The bottle is a real badass. Aaaaaarggghhhh!!!

Bumbu Rum XO small batch rum is produced from molasses in a distillery in Panama that dates back more than 120 years! It spent 18 years in American white oak bourbon barrels, and was then treated to a short finish in Andalusian white oak sherry barrels. It comes in a pretty stylish matte black bottle with a great big silver X on the front. You know what they say, X marks the spot...

Wouldn’t turn it down but not significantly better than the original.

Unlike the original, this rum is mature. You can definitely taste the age in this rum, it is very smooth with a little kick at the back of the throat with notes of smoked wood, caramel, citruses, pepper and coffee with a sherry-cask finish. A good rum to be drank over a slow melting ice cube.

An exceptionally smooth sipping Rum, though with a touch less flavor than it's progenitor.

Nice colored mild rum, easy to drink during summer with a bit of green cola. Not bad for the price.

This too is one of my favorites. NOTHING like the original, but a great flavor all its own. Perfect for an after dinner/ end of night drink.
