I good representation of the style, but not my favorite thing.
Agricole... Very different color, feel and taste then most other rums. Pale, some solid burn, a bit harsh, heavy notes of oak with smoke/char, almost peppery. The finish was brief. Overall the taste was thin and almost astringent to me.
There's a lot of nice flavor and depth, but overall it's still subtle. It's good for sipping or mixing. Got a little bit of heat
Super heavy oak influence. Amazing how it's overoaked at 4 years. Still retains some Agricole notes.
At The Rum House in NYC. Nice rum list. This JM is good. It has that Agricole earthy nose. Grass and honey. Smooth with nuts and a hint of caramel. Really solid rum. Bite is beautiful and balanced. Finish is short but smooth with som tobacco notes. Good stuff!
Lots of smoke. Lots of wood. Peppery and somewhat spiced. Grassy.
To be fair one of my first bottles of rhum Agricole so dont have much to compare it with. The flavor profile was smooth, woody and grassy with a hint of nutmeg and clove. The taste did not linger long. Good starting point for a bottle of its price.
Un des vieux agricoles avec le meilleur rapport qualité prix. Le fut de bourbon est très présent.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

My initial response to this rum was that I hate it. It was harsh and chemical tasting with an aftertaste that made me want a drink of water.
After trying several brands of rums, I decided to give it another shot. It isn’t as bad as I thought. As my palate evolves, I get a fruity sweetness and some peppery spice that I find enjoyable.

The initial nose of this rum is still harsh, but if you let it rest a while, you can smell the sugar cane and the spice.
It’s very dry on first sip, with a long burn but the flavors of the rum are now apparent as my palate evolves. It has a brilliant honey finish that lasts a long time, but it’s still not on my list of sippers, despite my changing tastes.
