Pere Labat Blanc 59

Like the two other distillers on MG - namely, Bellevue and Bielle - this captures the essence and terroir of the local cane flavor in a pronounced way. Specifically, that 59% (118 proof) grassy fire and and those trademark citrusy notes, which all three distilleries highlight in very different ways (and means). It's a fine 59, but for the value (~10 euro) and glue-like aftertaste, I prefer Bielle or even Bellevue 59s. It is a unique take on the high proof MG rhum agricole, certainly worth tasting, but maybe better as a mixer in a planter's punch.

Le père labat et ses 59 degrés est parfait pour le Ti punch.
Au nez on sent la canne à sucre
En bouche c'est puissant et aromatique. On sent qu'à 59 degrés il y a des arômes spécifiques qu'on ne retrouve pas à 40 j'imagine.

Pas le meilleur mais très bon et on ne sent pas les 59° en bouche

Pour la tête c'est une autre histoire^^

My favorite White rhum so far. I drink it with lemon and sugar cane (ti punch).

Smell is like a sugar cane stick kick in your face, very strong. The taste again, very strong on the sugar cane, with a little bitterness to the end. Also, very smooth at first, you forget about the 59%, but toward the end the alcohol kick back a little bit.
Great in Ti Punch or I can imagine to make Rhum Arrange, but as a sipper, I have tried some better white ones.

Avec 59° il est fort en alcool sans que ce soit exagéré mais le gout est assez neutre. Oeu d intérêt seul et apporte peu d arôme dans un mélange

Rhum agricole blanc de Marie-Galante titrant 59.
design : basique.
Nez : très parfumé, canne et fruits.
Bouche : canne à sucre suivi par l'alcool et une certaine amertume.
On sent les 59°.
Longue finale végétale.
Ce rhum est très aromatique, parfait pour les ti punch.

Very fruity and powerful rum.
In Ti' punch the alcohol taste is not very pronouced despite of the 59°.

Ce rhum nlanc de Marie Gallante est excellent pour le ti'punch malgre son titrage de 59° qui repousse certains amateurs. Il et tres doux et parfumé, un vrai régale.
