Spiced rum is always a hit or miss for me. In case of red leg we have an almost Bull's-eye. I love the branding and the subtle vanilla and ginger taste of this rum. Even if your preference goes to other styles of rum I can definitely recommend adding this one to your collection
What a legendary spiced drop! Super smooth on the rocks, only real way to enjoy this rum.
Delicious spiced flavours!
Vanilla is the main element of its aroma and taste. Also like design of this bottle.
Found this for about $13, and have to say I was amazed. It's a good spiced rum! Good enough to enjoy straight, perhaps easier to drink with a splash of some mixer. Will buy again!
definitely a rum for those exploring rum without coke or mixers as its sweet vanilla flavours arent overbearing. really good drink for newbie rum drinkers!
A decent new spiced rum I now see regularly in London bars
Gone through about 5 bottles now it's my bottle of choice for weekends away in our motorhome. Sweet lushness, vanilla, caramel tones and not a hint of anything too unsettling as regards afterburn. Quite easily could consume half a bottle in an evening, this is such a comforting enjoyable drop.
Unbelievably smooth. Normally I drink spiced rum with coke but the taste is too nice to mix - tad overdone with the vanilla though.
For something that is so reasonably cheap, this spiced rum is the bomb.
Smooth enough to sip away at on its own, it's also a fantastic mixer, and goes incredibly well with apple juice - so much so that if you pour one, before you know it it will be down your gullet and your on to the next one!
This is a very nice smooth spiced rum, taste more expensive than it is. A must try, you won't be disappointed
A very smooth spiced I prefer to Jerry its got the vanilla poss is essence but nice with a touch ginger I drink it with equal amount of slimline ginger fever trees the best over ice a slice lime delicious and I just bought bottle at Tesco for £15 ! I would love to try Rum Diary if any one knows if you can get it in UK
I enjoyed this over ice with Coke zero. A great little drink with a lovely sweet caramel flavour. One that could become a regular alongside my favourite Captain!
This little gem is far too easy to sip away at....yes its high in the vanilla and ginger flavours and yes it is only 37% but this stuff tastes great and I personally did not find it too sweet. if you must mix it try cherry cola over ice and a sprig of mint for a refreshing summer mix.
I normally turn my nose up at spiced rums, however this one is lovely although the vanilla is very strong. Cheeky nip of ginger is there to remind you it's spiced.
Lovely taste, nice vanilla spices, great on its own or with coke.
Nice and spicey dark rum with plenty vanilla. Neat, on the rocks or mixed - nice!
Easy drinking but a little sweet, which I like but sickly after a few.
I mean, with 20 dollars in your pocket you will have a hard time to buy anything better than this. Very smooth, with strong taste of vanilla and little bit of ginger.
A nice smooth sipping rum with ice. The flavor is not strong
At first was unsure if this what I really really wanted, but then found myself sipping away happily. Good bit of warmth from the ginger but stays smooth with vanilla bursts. Good rum.
Red Leg Spiced is a nice alternative to the other 'house rums' that you can generally buy everywhere. Not an amazing rum, but far superior to the likes of Captain Morgan's and most other rums around this price range. Lots of vanilla and ginger, though it tastes like real vanilla as opposed to synthetic. Almost liqueur like when drunk straight but mixes very nice with coke.
Back in the day I was not a fan of Ginger Spice and her group but now wonder would they have improved with Vanilla Ice in the mix? Essentially that is what Red Leg has done, added Ginger & Vanilla in harmony to a rum base resulting in a tasteful end product. Both spices are prevalent (a previous reviewer claimed not to have picked up the vanilla notes) and together combine to make Red Leg superior to most of its competitors in the Spiced sector.
Very pleasant for sipping. Not too sweet or powerful. Gently spiced with scent of ginger.
