Well,I’m a sucker for ti’punch and this rum is simply,,,amazing for that purpose. May not Pé for pure drinking but I’m still in love. Great nose and well priced for a liter of heaven😍

Apparently this is very very lightly aged agricole.
Nose: Grass, banana, lemon lots of heat fumes.
Palate: Very grassy with bitterness along with a lot of heat, lots of minerality, some brine, lemon, bit of banana with light oakiness and vanilla.
Finish: Grass bitterness with alcohol and lots of minerality

Not my style, quite heavy on the heat and alcohol with diminished fruit aromas, yes some complexity and pronounced grassiness from the super light oak aging but I prefer fruitier ambres and blancs. Also the color is bit unnaturally caramel colored but I don't personally mind that.

This one has a pleasant balance of the fire, grass, citrus and conegers for Labat's many lines of rhum agricoles. It's still a high 55%, which is 10-15% greater than most rhums from Guadeloupe as a whole, but I've yet to see a gold rum hit this mark. The light aging adds just the right amount of taming to the immature flavor of their 59, and makes for a really great mixer or ti punch. It's also fine on the rocks, smack in the middle of a great blanc and tawny barrel-aged agricole.
