Cane Island as a brand, seem to focus on producing gentle and pleasing rum, but perhaps also a bit boring. This cuban is no exception, but still among their better bottles.
The nose presents subtle vanilla, canesugar and a bit of wood. In a lot of ways, the taste is nice and rummy with vanilla, caramel and a spicy hint on the finish. But! It’s fairly sweet and extremely pleasing. It doesn’t require a lot of attention. Could be good on a warm summerday, but it’s boderline bland.

Yes, better then other cane islands. But still... not special enough

i samme båt som Long Island fra Jamaica, noe kjedelig.

Better than the Trinidad or Jamaican offerings. An anonymous looking bottle reminding me of a private label. Not an entirely nice smell and strange taste. Overall not enjoyable at all complete with a long burn. Cola helps but not to the point of influencing me into buying a bottle. have tried 3 Cane Island products with similar results.

Sweet, a bit stringent, and a wee vegetative. Cant put my finger on any defining flavours. A taste of light wood. Best as a mixer but could be drank straight for a few ounces.

I consider the Cane Island series as rums that highlight well the peculiarities of the different islands but always remain on the "mainstream" side.
For the "Cuba" version, it means “vanilla” and some sugar cane. However not too much pronounced.

The Cuba - Single Island Blend was produced in CUBA. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler CANE ISLAND. It was distilled from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 5 years. The rum has an ABV of 40%.

Tasted it from a small rum calendar bottle. Nice on the nose but alcoholic in the palate. Not exciting

Caramel and fruity flavored rum with some floral tast.
